jill young: As an avid beachcomber and recycler I love to create works of art out of the flotsum and jetsum found on the beach near to where I live. My work has recently been on show at three exhibitions viewed at the ShoreisaloadofRubbish blog.I make wall hangings and ornamental artwork from plastic bottles, beer cans, and any other items you might find on the beach including rusting metals. I also collect sea-glass to create coloured glass panels and jewellery. Another passion of mine is to refurbish old furniture, giving it a new lease of life and purpose by decorating with paint effects after the "New England" style or "Arts and craft movement. On occasions I have dabbled with watercolour and acrylics when the inspiration takes me. I guess there is no real discipline I follow, I just enjoy what I am doing when I`m doing it!
